BIOGRAPHY: Rickey Kim is a native of Los Angeles and the first from his Korean family to be born in America. As a student at UCSD, Rickey founded Evil Monito [EM] - www.evilmonito.com - an online magazine rooted in the goal of "Deconstructing Pop Culture" through theoretical means.

BIOGRAPHY: Born and raised in San Diego, Ca. A graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca. Lives and works in San Diego as an artist and illustrator. Regularly visits galleries and museums throughout Southern California.

I am an artist interested in links, layers, and lineages. I combine these ideas with my interest in how we relate to our environment and with the psychology of how we attach meaning to images. I am a wave-rider, a naturalist, and a philosopher. I am influenced by a wide array of art and design, architecture and environments, critical thinking, and life.

BIOGRAPHY: I am a vertically challenged, music-savvy, photographer. Photography initially allowed me to overcome my adolescent social awkwardness through its boundary-breaking. From behind the lens, I am able to encounter incredible people, unlikely circumstances, and access the normally inaccessible.

My photo skills were honed in college at Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication where I majored in Commercial Photography and specialized in Women's Studies. I continue to use photography as my voice and to document the beauty in the mundane. I currently live and work in Brooklyn, New York.
